Design Week Lagos (DWL) was established in 2019 as an annual citywide celebration bringing together a community of local and international designers, architects, and the creative industries with a vision to celebrate and promote Lagos as a leading global design capital. DWL is West Africa’s leading annual international design event held over ten days, promoting creativity, innovation across disciplines including architecture, industrial design, interior design, furniture design, graphics design, and culture.
DWL promotes creativity, innovation, and covers a range of design disciplines, including architecture, product design, interior design, furniture design, graphics design, and technology. DWL hosted over 40 events across the city, including; Design Kulture exhibition, MADE by Design show (Nigeria’s leading Design fair), Tourism Investors Forum, Sound for Design, Reflection for Happy Spaces, Vocational training week, The GUIDE conference organized by the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria, Restore and Rebuild hosted by the British Council, In Conversation with Demas Nwoko supported by Alliance Francaise, Emerging Designers round table by Decor Nigeria, Fix my Space reality TV show hosted by British council, the Vocational training week organized by VPD Academy and many more. The mission of the design DWL is to highlight the importance of all design disciplines and their impact on economic, social, cultural, and environmental development.
