At DWL, one of our primary goals is to see design becoming a leading problem-solving tool in today’s Africa. We want to see a positive, direct, and measurable impact on the economy of African nations. We are here to facilitate this plan and strongly believe one of the ways to push is through our young vibrant students.
The DWL (Design Week Lagos) Student Competition for 2023 is calling upon talented architects and designers to explore the theme of “Workspace Building Innovation in our Africa today.” This innovative competition provides a platform for creative minds to envision and shape the future of workspaces, considering the transformative shifts that have occurred in workspace design post pandemic.
Workspace design has undergone a remarkable evolution, adapting to new norms and challenges. The traditional office model has been reimagined, with remote work, flexible arrangements, and hybrid setups becoming integral. This competition seeks to celebrate these changes and foster forward-thinking designs that enhance productivity, collaboration, and well-being in work environments.
Amidst these dynamic changes, the importance of innovation in workspace design cannot be overstated. Innovations in design have the potential to revolutionize the way we work, offering solutions that accommodate diverse needs, promote inclusivity, and optimize space utilization. By encouraging participants to explore inventive ideas, the competition aims to shape the future of workspaces in a way that reflects the evolving requirements of the modern workforce.
The DWL Student Competition invites emerging architects and designers to harness their creativity and vision, redefining workspaces to align with the demands of a post-pandemic world. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing narrative of workspace design evolution, where innovation serves as a cornerstone for driving progress and adaptability in our professional lives.
